In this unprecedented times, the Ministry of Education must engage stakeholders in finding sustainable solutions on alternative ways that learners will continue learning amidst COVID-19 pandemic. Data from health experts indicate that this pandemic will be with us for a long time than we thought. This does not mean that life will stop but we have to adapt to the current reality of COVID-19. The government must embrace alternative solutions such as e-learning that has been for long resisted by different quarters. We must embrace the new reality and live with COVID-19 as part of our challenge. However, as much as education is important, the policy makers must be careful while making decisions. We do not want to witness a situation that may lead to massive deaths of our children. Solutions be as safe as possible and life and health of learners must come first. Written by Nathaniel Muthomi.
